This year's edition of the Southern indie film fest focuses on Latinx voices, with the theme Visiones. Through a partnership with Oaxaca film festival, shorts blocks such as Femme Frontera and El Sur, and the DACA Voices section, they provide a broad view of the Latinx experience while emphasizing the American Southeast.  Here's just one highlight:

Instantes de campaña (Moments of Campaign), Ecuador
Director Tomás Astudillo’s unflinching, impartial camera manages to capture moments of genuine feeling from an otherwise elusive subject: the contemporary politician. Shot in stark, unforgiving black and white, this incisive behind-the-scenes portrait of charismatic populist Rafael Correa–whose successful 2013 bid for reelection as President of Ecuador serves as the focus of this documentary.
