The Vessel

First-time writer-director Julio Quintana tells the story of a small Latin American village grappling with the devastating effects of a tsunami that destroyed a local school a decade before. Martin Sheen plays a priest, Father Douglas, who alongside 3 other main characters help the town overcome their harsh reality and change the path of self extinction.  The drama also stars newcomer Aris Mejías alongside Lucas Quintana (Leo), Jacqueline Duprey (Fedelia). Mejías plays Soraya, Leo’s love interest. Soraya, the mysterious and reclusive widow, embarks on an emotional awakening with Leo that serves as a catalyst for the town’s redemption. Shot simultaneously as two completely independent films in English and Spanish in Puerto Rico.
