Hollywood's first Dominican actress, and one of the first Latina screen sirens, Maria Montez's story is told in this biopic.  The film follows her from her start in the small town of Barahona in the Dominican Republic, through her success in Hollywood, to her sudden death in France in 1951, when she was only 39.
