Now in its seventh year, the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival showcases the best in new Brazilian cinema and provides the movie-loving public with access to some of the most critically and important Brazilian filmmakers, film industry professionals and emerging new talent by bringing them together in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world.

Opening Night: The Great Victory (A Grande Vitória)

Max had a humble and troubled childhood, with difficulties he was raised by his mother and grandfather. Through judo, the boy gets involved with the principles of martial arts and tracks a path of overcoming and learning in an exciting story in search of a dream: to become an Olympic champion.

Closing Night: Forever Nevermore (Para Sempre Nunca Mais)

Brazil 1932. In a nation undergoing a revolution to free itself from dictatorship the forbidden love of Luiza and Quim develops near the war’s frontline between Minas and Sao Paulo. Luiza is a humble and dedicated countrywoman married to Domingos an impetuous Italian colonialist. Quim is a soldier of the revolution who was sent to the battlefield. Love hate and revenge emerge in this touching story filled with dramatic turns and historic events which culminate in the revelation of a major secret that has the power to transform forever into nevermore; revealing that reason is sometimes beyond comprehension.
