New York's Queens Museum continues its tradition of Passport Thursdays this summer with free, outdoor film and dance festivals highlighting a different country each week.
August 7: Brazil is represented by Batala NYC, an all-women Afro-Brazilian drum band, playing before O Mistério do Samba (The Mystery of Samba) a 2008 documentary about Portela, one of Rio's most revered samba schools.
August 14: Cuba. The Cimarron Project brings the diversity of Afro-Cuban music and dance to its listeners, followed by the charming 2012 fiction film Habanastation about the unlikely friendship between two boys from different backgrounds.
