This LGBTQ Latino festival is free and open to the public! Here are a couple highlights:
Romeo & Romeo, Puerto Rico
Two teenagers are discovering love through fairy tales and skateboards. Moved by their desire for each other, yet brought up by traditional and fundamentalist families, they face religious and social norms which doom their chances of developing a healthy relationship. Romeo and Romeo’s only salvation is dressing up in a costume party to finally unleash their passion.
Liz en Septiembre, Venezuela
Every year Liz, a hardcore party girl and womanizer, celebrates her birthday with her friends at a Caribbean beach retreat. This year is different. She is sick but hates pity, so she hides her terminal illness. When a young woman arrives, Liz's friends dare her to seduce the newcomer. But the ingénue is deeply wounded by the recent death of her young son, and nothing turns out as Liz expects.
New York: May 11 - 22. Full lineup and details on their website.
