SF IndieFest

Cine+Mas SF is co-presenting these films from Mexico and Spain at SF IndieFest:

El Incidente, Mexico
Two parallel stories follow two sets of characters trapped in illogically infinite spaces. A detective and two brothers climb an apartment staircase, only to find it looping back below only a few stories up. A family drives an endless road, passing the same signs and gas stations over and over again. In each reality, victims must choose to break their pattern or make peace with their new reality.

Los Parecidos (The Similars), Mexico
On a rainy night in 1968, the eve of a student revolt in Mexico City, eight characters find themselves trapped in a bus station. As the evening progresses, they find they share more than just a temporary prison.

Lluc Sky Walker, Spain
Lluc is a gray and bitter man. Friendless and fine with that, he goes out of his way to spread his personally misery around. Until the day his doctor tells him he has three weeks to live and he starts planning his own funeral. In the hopes of drawing an audience for the funeral, he befriends his neighbors and finally discovers some joys in life. This dark comedy frequently references a certain space saga in telling a tale of redemption.
