Multiple award-winning La Jaula de Oro uses non-professional actors to tell the story of three teenagers from the slums of Guatemala who travel to the U.S. in search of a better life. On their journey through Mexico they meet a Tzotzil boy from Chiapas who doesn’t speak Spanish, who joins them as they travel in cargo trains and walking along railroad tracks on their way to their dream.
