Cinemateca Film Series in Omaha, NE


Omaha gets to see a variety of Latino and Latin American films in the 4th edition of Cinemateca:

Aug. 29 - Sept. 4: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors: an immigrant family tries to find their autistic son in New York City's subways.

Sept. 5 - Sept. 11: The haunting and luminous Elena - read more about the film here.

Sept. 6 - 18: Anina, an animated film about a little girl who hates her multi-palindromic name - Anina Yatay Salas - and her adventures.

Sept. 16: La Camioneta: The Journey of One American School Bus, following the transformation of an yellow school bus to a new use in Guatemala. Q&A with the director.

Sept. 23: Mercedes Sosa: The Voice of Latin America, a documentary about the beloved South American singer. Performance by Juan Carlos Veloso and discussion after the screening.

Sept. 30: Keep on Rolling: The Fantasy of the Automobile, A spirited look at our addiction to autos and its effects told through interviews, archival footage, and animation. Q&A with director afterwards.
