“El Fantasma de la opereta” rates as one of Tin-Tan’s most inspired and hilarious films with musical numbers, all entertaining – either vocally and dance-wise or comically. Both of Tin-Tan’s solos are a treat, for his singing and dancing. Ana Luisa Peluffo is super-wonderful, and the best co-star Tin-Tan ever had! Story-wise, the screenplay is a spoof of the Lon Chaney 1925 “Phantom of the Opera”. Veteran cinematographer, Jack Draper, created some tingling effects, and director, Fernando Cortes, handled the movie with pace and style. The film is staged, photographed and edited with vitality and artistry.
